Prizegiving

Last night we had our senior prizegiving, It was a blast. The items were fun to watch but it was hot. Every Time there was a different item it always seem to get better. There were a lot awards to be handed out. It took long but the clips and dances were fun.

The first awards were handed out to the year 4’s & 5’s. Then shortly after the awards were handed out, they performed their item. There dance was cool i can’t dance like that. Then Mr Burt started calling out the year 6’s awards.

They had a lot of awards and trophies. But the best was that player of the year didn’t go to a boy it went to a girl. There dance was even better but it was quite long. The whole stage was full of year 6 students dancing around together.

Then it went straight into year 7 and 8 students award.  We had the most awards it took forever. I was sitting down with pins and needles. My legs were in so much pain, but when we got up to dance. I was so relieved we were getting up but I was shy to dance but I did.

My Broken Hand ( :

My hand is broken out of the whole year, I break it now. Why now when it’s nearly holidays I want to have fun and go beach and go out places. I didn’t know it was so badly damage that i needed surgery. The doctor said that the bone was dislocated but when he relocated the bone he still felt movement in my hand.

The bone would move back out of place when i would move it. I needed three wires in my hand to hold it in place. This is the first time i’m having surgery. The nurse put a cream on my arm and hand to numb it for when they put the i.v line in.

She said it should work in half an hour. When she put the i.v line in it was painful my face suddenly just scrunched up. The surgery doctors came up to tell me the surgery will be soon. My dad told me not to worry it’s only my hand nothing big.

I thought to myself I need my hand. 10 Minutes later I was taken to the operating room. Where they asked me some question. I got up to walk in to lay on the operating bed. They put me to sleep. Then I woke up with a cast and I had a ice block then I had to stay overnight. The next day I had to wait 7 hours to be discharged.

Assembly

Assembly today I wonder what exciting things are going to happen today. Walking into to voices singing looks like fridays are always the happy day. National anthem is always a  way to know we’re all one as whole, When the singing is very strong but light mulledy. There is always heaps of things going on here sports and much more. There’s like a thousands songs we learn and they're all pretty cool. Some guests come for assembly and they’re all different some sing some talk so it’s all amazing things.

Future Apirations

Future aspirations inspired me to set little goals, to succeed in your big goal. The speakers tell you a lot of stuff. The best thing they would tell you is to chase your dream but not only chase it catch it. They give you a lot ideas and inspire you to look for good jobs and to complete school. Most islanders and maori don’t make it to university. Which we really need to change they’ve inspired me to really chase my dream and make it come true.

The speakers really inspired me to finish school and go to university. Because only a few pacific and maori students complete school and actually go to university. They make you believe that you can succeed in anything if you push yourself.

They all had different jobs or they're still in university or school. Tristan pang one of the smartest person’s i'll know hes form 2 and he’s study year 13 math. He’s in university right now that’s amazing for 11 year old. It beats me but i still have along way to go.

What about city fitness a massive gym for boxing. At first all it was, a old warehouse then a guy turns it into a boxing gym for all people. Kane was his name a old boxer who had a little bit of money went and bought a old warehouse transformed it into the largest boxing gym in new zealand. I found that pretty successful.

Mosa a 18 year old who is Len Brown’s youth town adviser. Who is still in university and is a great talker. He keeps his audience happy and calm. He’s a really funny guy. And is one of the most successful 18 year olds i know.

The Beach Or

As the sun glared onto my body. I felt a drop of water fall from above to land on my face. As I opened my eyes to a colossal wave straight up above. I leaped up like a frog and was smashed down. You could hear the cracks of my bones as I hit the ground.

As goosebumps filled my body as i was a glass getting filled up with water. I flipped myself over onto the warm sand. Buried myself and grabbed a packet of chips and started eating. As I thought it couldn’t get any worse. It happened a bird flew up high above my head circling around me. I said “It’s just looking for food”. Then it went came flying down I tried to move but then sand held me down.

Squish it went all over my face like a icing on a cake. I finally lifted myself out of the heavy blanket of sand and ran straight into the water. i looked like a human ice cream with sprinkles. As I hit the cold shiny glass water. My the sand slowly peeled off and the bird poop drifted away.

As I walked out of the water the goosebumps refilled my body. I ran back to my spot where i had finally realized i’m going on a ride in a speed boat along the shore. I grabbed my stuff and headed straight to the rafter group.

As we went along the shore sightseeing. After a while of a smooth ride we went straight into a sharp hard rock. The boat started to sink as my stomach filled with butterflies. I Slowly swimed to the shallow end of the waters and then pulled myself up and passed out.
As I woke up with the sting and ringing noises in my head I slowly got up. To be on a different island. I looked out to see everyone across the water the swim was like 40 minutes. I rested for one hour. Then got ready to swim across.

By now I would of thought help would be here. So I ran and dived in i surfaced up. Then I swam and swam for my life. My arms ached and my shoulders clicked as if my arms were to fall off. My legs were pumping like they were getting filled with air. My eyes turned red like a tomato. My fingers wrinkled up like i was 60. I finally reached the end my whole body was paralyzed my head was aching my arms were dead they felt like 50kgs each side, My legs were the same.

I heard voices coming closer then i slowly lifted my arm. Then they walked over to me to lift me and carried me back to the shore. Nobody even noticed I was gone.

Movie Reflection

My DLO I made last week  was about Martin Luther King. Our plan wasn’t perfect but was alright we planned our movie on paper. We tried to improve as we continued. We didn’t film we only did animations.
Our movie had a rap in it telling our viewers what Martin Luther King did back in the day.

Our message was to show people we are all equal and to not judge by the colour. Our message was clearly explained that we are all equal.

Our voiceover had issues with the sound, It was our beat in the background that made it sound good. The sound needed a lot of fixing, There were glitches in the sound but i had fixed them later on. The sound at the end became alright for listening.

The graphics were done on imacs drawn by me, Only drawings of Martin Luther King.

Our group work well together getting the voice over done.

Prize Giving

Prize giving, The gathering of U11s To U13s. Wind softly gliding across your face.  Legs pumping nose turning red, Pass the ball. Zoom down the field gone passed the ball to potaua he scored the try. Heartbeat rising trying to catch my breath. Me & Kendrix walked up into the club rooms.

Standing by the doorway not knowing where to go. I saw some our team sitting down on the ground so I walked over with Kendrix. We sat down, We waited for about ten minutes just for the prize giving to actually start.

Hamisan called out all the teams from U11s To U13s, When he called my team U13s Open team. I nervous he called everyone up then me last. I stood up and went up on the little stage. He awarded three people Alex for most improved player, & two others for back of the year & forward of the year.

We finished so me & Kendrix walked home we talked & we were walking for about thirty minutes just to get home.

Rainbows end, Scorpion karts Zooom Me Xavier, And Kendrix had a race. As soon as we heard Kane was at  the gates I ran straight down. Stacks and stacks of  delicious food all at the gate waiting with Kane and his dad.

My friend was stuck at the gate with no ticket, I had a spare so i gave it to him. We grabbed the food and walked around looking for our spot. With found our spot after 15 minutes of looking, We took the food in. Then straight away left to go on a ride the powersurge.

The ride of a lifetime your seat feels loose it feels like you're going to fall. Your seat is spinning around your stomach gets filled with butterflies. The fear fall that 5 second view of manukau then that drop of fear.

Cross Country

Inline image 1

Waiting under the shade away from the sun. Watching other students do the run. We the year 8 and 7 boys sat there singing. Me Kendrix & xavier decided we would run together. As were running Kendrix dropped back because he had a stitch. I stopped and walked back to him as Xavier kept on running.

Me & kendrix started running again. Straight after we started running. I ended up with a stitch. We ran with a couple of friends. My calves were aching, The sweat was like warm rain drops falling down my skin. Running through the massive puddles was like a bath for my legs.
Zooming straight down the puddles washes the mud right off my legs.

There were a lot of support. The tamaki service people cheered you on when you run pass. As we reached our second lap. I was tired so I stopped to catch my breath. I ran off passing all the teaching and the people from tamaki college.

Rugby

Rugby Rugby the sport we love! New Zealand is the best at it. We play we win. I have a rugby team u13s open we’re coming 4th on the ladder so far we’re a good team. We’re like a big family. I've scored 10 points for my team so far that’s 2 tries. I'll make it more before the season ends.

Rugby helps me stay fit. It helps me become strong, makes me push myself even when I’m sore. I just push myself to the limit. I'm a winger number 14 right side. I like to play flanker blind side and lock. I like stepping, getting run aways and I like getting smart when I'm running.

I love getting cheered on when I'm getting run aways. My legs get sore and I get tired. The saturday just past, we played against the Manukau Rover’s. We just won by 8 points. It was a hard game but we won.

Red

Once upon a time there was a little boy who was abandoned at the age of 12. He was left all alone in the woods after a tragic accident, where he got separated from his parents. He searched and searched for them. After years of searching he had no hope left inside of him. Being in the woods all alone he trained himself how to fight. Before the accident his parents told him that there was a vicious wolf out there so be carefull.

He adapted to the lifestyle of the woods. He knew how to hunt, how to hide and how to survive from the dangerous animals in the woods. One day he found a letter in his pocket from the pants his mum  had packed him. The letter said , “Son if you are reading this you have survived. You are not alone in the woods  and you have a grandmother out there living in a small house.”
“What? How is that possible? Did my parents plan this?,” he thought feeling confused.

He rose up from the ground holding the letter to his chest having deep thoughts in his head, as a tear dropped down his face. He decided to look for this house.

As he was walking he suddenly heard the howl of a wolf. Taken by surprise he slipped down a ledge of a hill. He struggled to stop himself. He heard the wolf getting closer and closer. The wolf’s scream scared him, he looked backed then faced forward.... smack!.

He went straight into a tree. You could hear the crack as his body and the tree colliding. “Ahh,” he screamed as his  leg went first into the tree, snapping the bone then head on.He struggled to get up. The wolf was still howling, he was praying for his life. Wincing with pain, he pulled his leg up off the ground. Then grabbed a thick strong stick to keep his balance. Limping, he walked downhill to a flat path.

The wolf’s howling stopped. Red saw a house. He immediately walked down to the house as quietly and slowly as possible. He saw a figure and decided to call out.
“Grandma!!” he yelled at the top of his lungs. He walked through the entrance door turned right to see his a little old lady lying in bed.
He walked over to say hello.
“What a big nose you have gran”, he said noticing a big black hairy snout. With no reply he got suspicious.

In a flash the  wolf leapt out of the bed to attack Red. As Red was just about to get eaten his dad, huntsman came to the rescue and slayed the wolf.
“Where were you?
But then the dad told him in the middle of the pool of blood. That his mother had died. From this wolf years after we left you.

Oobleck

Yesterday we made oobleck with cornflour and water green food coloring. First we added half a cup of cornflour then half a cup of water. But we needed to add more cornflour in because it was too watery so we tipped in more cornflour then added food coloring.

The oobleck went hard but when you lifted it in your hand it would melt and fall off your hand. It would go all gooey and it stinked.

NARRATIVE STORY

The sound of people’s screams when the nuke hit. You could hear bones breaking people crying. As I was running to the bunker i saw a pool of blood around me and the burnt bodies that lied ahead. I made it with scars not scars on your body but on my head this scar will haunt me for the rest of my life.

With only darkness around you and fear all inside your body, the sound of water dropping from above. I heard people screaming for help but I was afraid to leave the safety of my bunker. I heard the screams of children and babies, I felt like a coward not to help.

I could hear everything, explosion, buildings falling, and the walls around me shaking. I could not stand on my feet hearing the slaughter up above the ground. I heard voices I did not know what language they were speaking but then, I heard gun fires and screams.

I realised there was survivors above on the land. As I slowly opened the bunker doors I saw a figure, I realised he was holding a gun. I ran and ran for my life. I hid at the back of a crumbled building. I could see them through a hole in the walls of the broken building.

Full of fear and not knowing what to do, I paused for a moment then I turned to look through the hole if they were there. There was nothing, I turned back to a gun at my face. I pulled it forward to my head I heard a gun fire, I thought I had been shot and to my shock and relief I saw the light of a car. I opened my eyes to see my attacker on the ground. I saw a shadow of a person lowering his gun. He called me over and asked if I needed any help. Happiness filled up inside me, I knew i was saved. But still now those scars of fear still haunt my life.

Red meat ARGUMENT

                                                Red Meat
Good
Same
Bad
Meat has lots of iron for your muscles
animals
It has too much fat
Meat is very tasty
Cows
Eating animals
It gives you energy
Lamb
Its bad for your health
Low in fiber
Beef
You can get cancer from eating red meat
Corned beef

Pack n Save

Red meat has too much fat. The bad thing about eating meat it is because we are eating animals. Red meat is bad for you health when you eat it too much. If you eat medium rare meat you could get cancer.
If you eat too much meat you could get a lot of diseases. Red meat can cause you to get type 2 diabetes which means red meat is not a dieting food. With eating red meat you could obese by eating too much.
when eating red meat you could get many diseases and even different types of cancer. Red meat is very fatty and hard to chew.  You should always have a meat the size of your palm and fully cooked. Because medium rare meat can cause health problems or under cooked meat.
Red meat is fooling you eat it everyday under cooked just to get sick and have health problems. But does red meat give you heart problems and cancer. Yes it does as red meat is high in saturated fat. Saturated fat raises blood cholesterol. Meaning high levels of LDL it increases heart diseases.

What is really in our food

Each year 920,000,000 eggs are eaten by New Zealanders. That makes two and half million per day.

Mostly there are caged chickens producing eggs. There are six hens per cage. There are two conveyor belts in front, one that carries the eggs and one for the food and water. Caged hens have lack of space because their cages are on a angle for all the eggs to roll onto the conveyor belt.

Free ranged hens have more space and eat grass as well as chicken feed. Free ranged eggs can run around and flap their wings. There are also barn hens which are cage free. Barn hens have more space. They are cage free they have a better life then caged hens they can run around. Barn hens are all in one place

Eggs are high in cholesterol meaning it can cause heart problems. But eggs are still good to eat because they are high in protein. There are white eggs and brown eggs. White eggs come from white hens and brown eggs come from brown hens.

You can have poached, boiled, and fried but people like poached eggs better. The protein is mostly in the yolk. The darker the yolk the better the egg. Eggs have b12 vitamin. Cooked eggs have more protein than raw eggs. Eggs are easy for the body to digest.

The old man on the beach.

One day an old man went for a walk on a beach.  He dragged his feet through the soft sand. As he walked he smiled . He kept walking through the sand and felt more relaxed . This was his first time walking around the beach . As the wind blew past his face he felt a cold chill down his spine.

He walked and walked his brown pants started to get wet . He got more cold and cold his jumper did not keep him warm. He kept walking through the sand. He did not stop walking he held his shoes in his hands. He was a solitary figure . All by himself he just stopped and stared at the water . Then watched the sunrise he sat down and had a rest.

People ran past splashing in the water. The water went all over him and he got wet. He got up and walked in the and dried up he watched the happy people playing in the sand and water. He felt alone he walked back onto the sand.

Special assembly

Time for assembly. The bell rang. We had a special visitor. We started off with the national anthem .Then Ms M introduced the special visitor. It was her brother who came all the way from London.  He studied P.A. (Performing Arts) at university then went to London.

At first I thought he was wearing a wig but then noticed it was his hair. He said "you gotta help me because I forgot some of my Samoan", because he lived London. Then he said repeat after me "minoi , minoi , minoi". We started clapping and he sang. He sang a song while we lifted our arms and started waving them. It looked like we were the only class. So he started sitting next to people and singing and we went back to clapping .

As we were clapping everyone joined in. People started singing. He sang another song, this time it was an opera song. He tied his hair up then everyone laughed .
